PHNOM PENH, March 3, 2026 – Cambodia and Singapore reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation during a farewell meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn and outgoing Singapore Ambassador Teo Lay Cheng, according to a readout posted on the official Facebook page of Cambodia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC).
The ministry said Sokhonn received Teo on March 2 for a courtesy and farewell call marking the completion of her diplomatic mission in Cambodia.


According to the readout, the deputy prime minister congratulated the ambassador on the successful conclusion of her tenure and expressed appreciation for her contributions to strengthening ties between the two countries. He noted progress made during her mandate, including high-level exchanges such as Prime Minister Hun Manet’s visit to Singapore in 2024 and Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong’s visit to Cambodia in 2025, held on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
The two sides exchanged views on cooperation in areas including defence, trade, labour, human resource development and people-to-people exchanges, and reaffirmed their intention to deepen collaboration to deliver practical and long-term benefits for both nations, the ministry said.
Teo expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation extended by Cambodia’s foreign ministry and relevant institutions during her tenure, and commended Cambodia’s recent regional and sporting achievements, including its ASEAN chairmanship in 2022 and hosting of the 2023 Southeast Asian Games and ASEAN Para Games.
Sokhonn conveyed best wishes for the ambassador’s next assignment and reiterated Cambodia’s readiness to work closely with the incoming Singaporean ambassador to continue strengthening bilateral relations.
