PHNOM PENH, March 4, 2026 – ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn attended the opening ceremony of the Cambodia–ASEAN Business Summit 2026 (CABS 2026) in Phnom Penh on Wednesday, as Cambodia’s government and ASEAN-linked business bodies promoted a regional agenda framed around innovation, integration and industrial upgrading, according to official and local reporting.

The ASEAN Secretariat said the summit was held under the theme “Transforming ASEAN: Innovation, Integration, and Industrial Evolution” and drew more than 300 registered companies with nearly 700 participants, describing the gathering as underscoring ASEAN’s commitment to stronger public–private partnerships and deeper regional economic integration.

Cambodia’s state news agency AKP reported the two-day summit (March 3–4) was co-organised by the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) Cambodia, in collaboration with international chambers and business associations in Cambodia and across ASEAN.
In remarks reported from the event, Prime Minister Hun Manet highlighted Cambodia’s political stability, market access through free trade agreements, and regulatory reforms as investor attractions, while also saying the government is committed to eliminating online scam centres by the end of April, according to CamboJA News.
